What are your biggest musical inspirations (or things that inspire your writing)? Real life, the ups & down that there in, nostalgia and people-watching. Aubben has a bit of a staring problem....but we benefit from it with lyrics. Then she presents them to Grahame and he works his magic by building a song around them. {we realize we are speaking in the third person but we don't really know how else to handle this interview} |

What is your favourite and least favourite thing about the internet? Favourite: There have been a lot of amazing new friends and musical contacts to come from the good ol' Myspace days, as well as connecting now on Facebook. Also all the great music out there. It's never-ending and there's nothing like stumbling upon someone who is uber-talented, yet somewhat undiscovered. Least Favourite: TIME. It can be such a bit black hole of wasted time. |
|
Name one song you wish you had written instead of whoever actually wrote it. Grahame - "My Broken Heart" by Noah and the Whale Aubben - Eek, it's a toss-up between "Oviedo" by Blind Pilot and "Remain" by Phosphorescent |

You can take one book and one movie from the present and you can put it in a special time machine mail box that will send that book and movie back to your 16 year old self (and don't worry, the book and movie will not disappear if they are sent to a time before they existed - the time machine mail box has been specifically designed to deal with this situation). What book and what movie would you send and why? Grahame Film: Moon, with Sam Rockwell. Book: The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brian Aubben Film: First of all, I'd have had to sneak and watch it, as I didn't have television or movies until I moved out on my own....but definitely, Amélie by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. I think I'd have found a lovely kindred spirit in her...she'd have made a marvelous partner in crime. Crimes of mischievous kindness of course. Book: Love is a Mix Tape. Henry mailed it to me a while back and I've read it thrice. I love that book for so many different reasons. True, realistic love, and the infinite love and art of the perfect (and imperfect) MixTape. |

For reasons unexplained, amazing artists sometimes never get heard. Who deserve more love than they currently get? Brad Senne. His latest album is the perfect soundtrack for a drive to the North Shore. A gem of a fellow, and his live shows easily match the quality of his records. |
