Old Happiness was kind of the first 'proper' release HI54LOFI RECORDS ever did. By 'proper' I mean it was an actual physical product and even had our logo on it, even though we didn't actually have a logo at the time (in fact, we still might not quite have a logo yet). Besides being a truly absorbing listen and fine piece of art, by a man who - despite living on the other side of the ocean- has become a dear friend, this album also feels a bit like a first born.
“This album means everything to me. As opposed to 'I dig for gold' that had poured out before I knew it, this album was MADE. I sort of knew what I wanted to tell and where I wanted to go. And the best thing: all the people I got to know during the process. The people who sang with me, who helped me put it out there, the people who listened... I feel nostalgia for 'Old happiness'.”

What Others Are Saying:
Happy Days are Here Again: “Perchè sono solo canzoni. Raramente così semplici ed intense.”
Oddbox: “The singer of these songs easily recalls the melancholy style of late singers St Thomas or Vic Chesnutt.”
Slowcoustic: “The album is overflowing with ballads meant to be merely whispered to the one next to you – and we get the experience wrapped up in 13 tracks of digital storytelling”
Metro UK: “lo-fi lullaby folk that falls on the ears as gently as snowflakes”
