The Sparrow and the Seed is the second full length put out by The Bravest Ghost in 2010. If you haven't been able to make it out to any of the shows on his cross Canada tour, your next best option would probably be to head over to Bandcamp and pick up the album. He could probably use the gas money.
'The Sparrow and the Seed' is, in a way, the sequel to 'I Left Home'. Some of the songs were written in my last few days spent in Winnipeg and and the rest came together after moving back home to Saskatchewan. It ties up the experience of Winnipeg and spills into the challenges faced of returning to a familiar place with a new perspective. I intentionally made it sound and feel close to 'I Left Home' so it would have that 'sequel' feeling.
This album means a lot to me. The recording of it was almost therapeutic in the sense that it helped me release the guilt of the mistakes I had made in the past. Getting these ideas and feelings out in the open really made me focus on my present life and starting over.
